ADVISORY BOARD

Joe Cannon Joe Cannon
Former Goalkeeper, San Jose Earthquakes
Joe was the Earthquakes starting goalkeeper from 2008 to 2010, as well as earlier in the team's history. Joe got away from us at the end of 2002, but was welcomed back when the franchise returned in 2008. He is a Los Altos native and is actively involved in local charities, including working with autistic children. His place on the Advisory Board brings his involvement in soccer and charity full circle.
Brandi Chastain Brandi Chastain
Women's World Cup Soccer Champion
The most recognizable name in women’s professional soccer brings a wealth of soccer and charitable experience to Soccer Silicon Valley’s community foundation. Brandi is a World Cup winner, a successful TV commentator, and mother. She is a valued member of the Advisory Board.
Gary Fazzino Gary Fazzino
Executive VP of Government Affairs, Applied Materials
Former Chair, San Jose Sports Authority
Gary is Executive VP of Government Affairs at Applied Materials. He is a longtime soccer fan and advocate, having assisted in Soccer Silicon Valley’s efforts from its inception. In providing this invaluable assistance, Gary has drawn on his political experience as former mayor of Palo Alto, his business experience in working for one of the world’s preeminent companies, and his volunteer experience as president of San Jose Sports Authority. When not enjoying his favorite team--the Earthquakes, of course--he has been known to root for Italian teams.
Sam Liccardo Sam Liccardo
San Jose City Councilmember
Sam is a former assistant district attorney in Santa Clara County and is currently a San Jose City Councilmember representing District 3. Sam has been active in the Foundation by bringing at-risk youth to Earthquakes games and placing them with the Ultras for a positive and exciting game experience.
