AUTISM WALK

Soccer Silicon Valley Community Foundation partnered with the San Jose Earthquakes and California Custom, to sponsor the "Miles for Missy" Walk Team in the "Walk Now for Autism" fundraiser on Saturday morning, May 30, 2009 at History Park (in Kelley Park) in San Jose. Missy is the autistic older sister of former Quakes defender Ryan Cochrane, who was on hand along with his fiance and event organizer Ashley Clay (celebrating her birthday), fellow Quakes players Nick Garcia and Ryan Johnson and several other wives and girlfriends of the players.

Quakes fans raised over $3,000 as part of the Miles for Missy Walk Team, including $1,000 in a matching gift from SSVCF, which also supplied to walkers donating at least $25 to the cause a free black, all-cotton event t-shirt purchased at cost from California Custom/Soccer International. The t-shirts featured full color Quakes front breast logo and Miles for Missy Walk Team info on the back.
