David Kucera

The Bay Area soccer community sadly announced the passing of one of its players, David Kucera, on January 9, 2011. David played for the DeAnza Force Soccer Club for most of his youth, and was a member of the soccer team at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. His funeral was held on Saturday, January 22nd, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the St. Simons Church in Los Altos, CA.

The Force Soccer Club and Soccer Silicon Valley Community Foundation in partnership with David's parents--Tara Jolley and Jan Kucera--have established the David Kucera Soccer Award in loving memory of David Kucera who passed on way too soon for a young man who stood out in so many ways.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made in his name through SSVCF. These donations will be spread out for as many years as funds allow, awarding $500 per year to a Boys Force Soccer Academy player who goes above and beyond in his commitment to his soccer team, his performance on the field, his academic excellence and service to his community.

The recipient of the award will be announced at the SSVCF annual dinner, usually held in September each year.
