After School All Stars to be recipients of "SSV Kidzone" seats for the MLS San Jose Earthquakes game on April 29th at Buck Shaw Stadium
Soccer Silicon Valley Community Foundation is pleased to welcome 50 children and families from the After School All Stars as their guests in the SSV Kidzone seats for the MLS San Jose Earthquakes game on April 29th at Buck Shaw Stadium versus the New York Redbulls.
"Soccer Silicon Valley, through our community foundation and in partnership with the San Jose Earthquakes, has set up a program to bring 50 deserving kids to every Earthquake home game," says SSV Kidzone Chair Lloyd Danon. "Because of the deserving youth that participate in the After School All Stars, we selected the After School All Stars to receive tickets for free admission to the game."
"We are really excited to be working with the team’s fans through SSV Community Foundation on the Kidzone," says Earthquakes Executive Vice President David Alioto. "We are pleased with the choice of the After School All Stars as a deserving program for this partnership."
About After School All Stars:
After-School All-Stars is an after-school program which serves well over 2000 participants throughout four school districts (Alum Rock, Campbell, Mount Pleasant & San Jose Unified) from the hours of 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Our participants are on the low socioeconomic scale and receive free and reduced lunch. ASAS offers homework centers, enrichment, service learning, a counseling component and sports leagues free of charge to all site participants. After-School All-Stars prides itself in offering kids the chance to reach their full potential and providing opportunities to explore their horizons. After-School All-Stars students come from all backgrounds in the community. ASAS offers 8 sports throughout the school year, which include Soccer, Flag Football, Volleyball, Jr. Giants, Wrestling, Tennis, Basketball & Golf. ASAS was fortunate enough to fly two students to the Kobe Bryant basketball camp in Los Angeles, California (Loyola Marymount University) where both students explained the importance of education and what steps they need to take in order to attend college. These students were chosen by the ASAS Sports Director for attendance of the program, participating in multiple sports and being recommended by a site supervisor or principal.
