SAN FRANCISCO SOCCERFEST
SSVCF was a proud sponsor of the inaugural Carnaval San Francisco SoccerFest on May 24-25, 2008.
Organized by former California Victory forward and San Jose Earthquakes staffer Yuri Morales, SoccerFest is a fun, interactive soccer event designed to encourage and support young people in discovering and developing their athletic talents. Earthquakes players were on hand for autograph sessions, photo ops and presenting raffle prizes. The event also featured an exhibition of "foot volley" performed by the top professional beach soccer players in North America. Foot volley, a combination of soccer and beach volleyball, is an impressive Brazilian concoction that originated on the beaches of Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro.
